Obvious H1N1 news: Cereal probably won’t protect your kids

5 Nov

From the WSJ’s Health Blog comes a gem of a headline for parents concerned about swine flu. The post, “Kellogg: Rice Krispies Won’t Protect Your Kid From Swine Flu,” explains the company’s decision to remove the HUGE immunity banner from the cereal box’s packaging. Apparently due to the public concern over H1N1, no one wanted parents to be misled into thinking vitamins A, B, C and E could safeguard their children from contacting the virus. Really? I can think of a ton of other products whose packages claim they boost immunity. Why would any right-minded person think you could go shopping for flu-prevention at the supermarket?
